Aeolian Islands

Aeolian Islands

The Aeolian Islands, one of the most extraordinary places in Sicily. Archipelago of seven islands of volcanic origin emerged from the bottom of the Tyrrhenian Sea with two craters still active in Stromboli and Vulcano.

During this tour we will admire an endemic flora, green islands of heather and ferns, but also beaches, high cliffs, fascinating stacks, hiking trails with breathtaking views.

In Lipari we will discover the obsidian which is a black glass of volcanic origin, but also the pumice, a light and abrasive stone. Both are products of the volcanism of Lipari which have had a great secular importance in the economy of the island. In addition, the Aeolian Islands retain clear evidence of ancient archaeological evidence that allowed us to reconstruct the various stages of culture and populations that have inhabited the islands from 5000bC until the arrival of the Greeks.

A journey of great naturalistic and cultural interest, but also food and wine where fish, capers, the famous malvasia are just some of the many delicacies we will find in these islands. Beyond Lipari and its beaches of Acquecalde and Canneto, we will visit the island of Vulcano with its crater still active to admire. Immediately after Vulcano we will visit the island of Salina with its Monte Porri and the beautiful Pollara and then disembark at Filicudi where we will visit Capo Graziano and the homonymous village dating back to the Bronze Age. From the island of Filicudi we will pass to the famous and warm Panarea famous for its nightlife.

Finally Stromboli where to be amazed by the lava fountain of its volcano.
